I set up JCH Photography as a result of my love for taking images which has developed over many years, linked to my longstanding passion for animals, especially horses. Having competed in different equestrian events with my own two horses, including showing in hand and under saddle, dressage, show jumping, hunter trials and one day events, I feel as though I have a sound understanding of their majesty.
My love of animals is boundless and following my trips to Africa and closer to home in the Yorkshire Dales, I feel privileged to be able to share with you some of these images in my galleries.
Some of my images have been included in exhibitions and a great number of my images have been printed in magazines, books, leaflets and newspapers, occasionally appearing on front covers!! I have also been an official photographer at many equestrian events.
I like to make the shoot as personal as possible. Prior to the shoot I will have a chat with you and we will go through what will happen on the day. I will listen intently to what you would like out of the shoot and also work with you to identify and suggest a few things that maybe you have not thought about.
For horses, this could include portrait images, ridden, both flat and jumping, out on a hack or in the field.
Because of my own experiences with horses, I understand the way horses move and appreciate each one is individual and has its own character. Also I like to capture the unique bond between animal and owner, which I know lasts a lifetime. To do this, nothing is rushed, as these things take time.
For dog shoots, this could be in garden, in the home and out on a favourite walk.
